File Area Network (FAN)
A File Area Network (FAN) enhances standard network and storage infrastructure. FAN technology provides centralized, heterogeneous, and enterprise-wide network file management and control. This technology includes a decoupling layer that separates logical file access from physical file locations, as well as a variety of value-added file services.
The F5 Acopia ARX® device provides a scalable decoupling layer and a real-time policy enforcement point for the FAN. WANJet helps to extend the benefits of a FAN across the WAN.
