Explore BIG-IP application services in a demo environment

SEE WHAT BIG-IP APPLICATION SERVICES CAN DO—AND HOW YOU CAN CONFIGURE THEM IN CODE

This beta version of a cloud-based demo environment will set up a VPC on AWS containing an Ubuntu Linux client instance (the Utility Server), an F5 BIG-IP, and an Ubuntu Linux server EC2 instance. It’ll give you a chance to look under the hood and see how things work—including some pre-loaded tools and test scenarios to let you try out various application services like a web application firewall.

And it’s simple to set up. You can do all the configuration of the BIG-IP platform via F5’s Application Services 3 (AS3) extension launched from a simple Python script—no BIG-IP admin experience required.

Here’s what you’ll need:
  1. An AWS account (and the knowledge to operate it)
  2. An AWS S3 bucket
  3. API access to AWS—this lab is primarily designed to be started from the CLI
  4. A subscription (it’s free) to the F5 BIG-IP used in this lab
  5. Patience—this is an early beta with more work to do!
