In his session at NGINX Conf 2018, Dmitry covers the NGINX JavaScript module (njs, formerly called nginScript) in depth. He explains why we created a different implementation of JavaScript and why NGINX needs a different kind of virtual machine. He goes into detail on the execution model and interpreter. Dmitry describes how users of NGINX and NGINX Plus are using the NGINX JavaScript module to solve real solve real‑world problems, but also use cases where the module might not be the best solution. He concludes with a sneak preview of future plans for NGINX JavaScript.
