BOSTON, Mass. — Threat Stack, the leader in cloud infrastructure security and compliance, today announced that Threat Stack CEO Brian M. Ahern has been named a semifinalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2019 Award in the New England region. Widely considered one of the most prestigious business awards programs in the United States, the Ernst & Young program recognizes entrepreneurs and leaders of high-growth companies who are excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

Ahern took over as CEO of Threat Stack in 2015 after the acquisition of Industrial Defender, which he founded in 2002. Under his leadership, Threat Stack has rapidly grown into an industry leader in cloud infrastructure security and compliance. Some of the notable recent milestones for Threat Stack include:

  • The introduction of the Threat Stack Cloud SecOps Program℠, a series of services built on industry-leading visibility and insights from the Threat Stack Cloud Security Platform®, that helps customers securely navigate the transition to the cloud and deployment of containers.
  • The acquisition of Bluefyre, a runtime application security vendor, that gives Threat Stack customers the ability to maintain security observability from the cloud management console to the application layer.
  • 100 percent revenue growth in 2018, underscoring the market demand for the full stack cloud security observability enabled by Threat Stack and the need for co-managed services to supplement short-staffed security teams.

“Although not one for fanfare, I’m honored to be named a semi-finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. It is a prestigious award, and I’m humbled to be included,” said Brian M. Ahern, CEO, Threat Stack. “Threat Stack’s success is the result of a lot of hard work and dedication across our entire team, and this honor truly belongs to the entire company, not me individually. Everyone at Threat Stack understands our mission and goes above and beyond to help our customers leverage the benefits of the cloud without sacrificing security or compliance.”

Finalists will be announced on May 15, 2019, and New England Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 26, 2019 at the Westin Waterfront in Boston, MA.
