OPSWAT and F5: Taking network traffic security to the next level

F5 Ecosystem | February 04, 2026

Organizations run on application traffic and content, including APIs, user sessions, and files moving between users, apps, and partners. From customer onboarding and employee workflows to partner exchanges and API-driven integrations, content is constantly being uploaded, downloaded, and routed through critical systems.

OPSWAT has been a trusted partner of F5 for many years, and we are honored to be among the initial seven Select partners in the new F5 ADSP Partner Program, a strategic alliance of technology partners established in 2025 to support the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP) with pre-validated integrations.

The ADSP Partner Program helps to streamline adoption of the F5 platform by offering customers turnkey deployments that seamlessly incorporate key partner technologies. While the ADSP secures applications at scale, OPSWAT extends the platform’s protections through secure file traffic management, defense against file-borne threats, and comprehensive compliance enforcement. Our partnership with F5 reduces cyber risk for our customers while helping to maintain operational continuity for essential business workflows by improving an organization’s overall security posture.

Ongoing collaboration between OPSWAT and F5 helps our joint customers strengthen defenses against file-borne and AI-driven threats.

Founded in 2002, OPSWAT provides critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivering solutions and technologies that are employed by over 2,000 organizations worldwide to protect their digital assets and networks from an ever-evolving threat landscape.

Ensure the security of web traffic

The integrated solution brings together F5’s widely deployed application traffic delivery and security controls with OPSWAT’s file-focused security capabilities. These are delivered inline through Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (ICAP) workflows to reduce file-based risk and help secure digital data flows. By integrating OPSWAT MetaDefender ICAP Server with F5 ADSP, uploaded files and other content streams are vetted for malicious code or AI-generated malware before they reach internal applications.

F5 BIG-IP components in F5 ADSP forward relevant files and content flows to the MetaDefender ICAP Server, offloading tasks like antivirus scanning, detection of AI-driven threats, and other security features. MetaDefender evaluates file content and returns a policy-driven allow/block decision (and, when configured, sanitized output) before files reach web applications. (OPSWAT is also the only vendor with a certified technology module for F5 NGINX).

For customers, deeply inspecting files before they reach internal applications and systems greatly reduces the chance of file-delivered security incidents such as malware infections, ransomware, or data breaches—without the need to re-architect applications. Security teams can achieve this protection without rewriting, redesigning, or modifying existing applications, because OPSWAT security controls operate in front of the applications rather than being embedded within them.

The joint solution also supports compliance enforcement with consistent policy controls embedded in existing workflows. In addition, customers obtain the benefit of faster adoption of one of the industry’s most powerful app delivery and security platforms through pre-validated integrations, courtesy of the ADSP partner ecosystem approach.

A platform trusted by industry leaders

Together, OPSWAT and F5 provide the critical defenses that keep complex networks and sensitive data secure for some of the world’s leading enterprises across energy, defense, transportation, finance, and government sectors. For example, integrated OPSWAT and F5 technologies help financial services firms secure web-app file uploads for true zero trust security, with files scanned in milliseconds and detection rates over 99%, and enhance file security against advanced cyberthreats. These technologies can also help detect malware before it enters critical infrastructure to protect supply chains. Teams report they began scanning all file uploads in a couple of days and can align to programs that meet and maintain ISO 27001 compliance.

Ongoing collaboration between OPSWAT and F5 helps organizations strengthen defenses against constantly evolving file-borne and AI-driven threats. Through our integration with F5 ADSP, we deliver joint value to our customers by helping them reduce risk, ensure compliance, and protect critical data by securely managing file traffic at scale.
