Notice of Executive Personnel Changes

F5 (Headquarters: Washington State, U.S.A., NASDAQ: FFIV; hereinafter "F5") announced today that Akihiko Maruse has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of its Japanese subsidiary, F5 Networks Japan G.K. ("F5 Japan," headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo), effective March 1, 2025.

With increasingly diverse enterprise IT environments spanning multi-cloud and on-premises infrastructures, F5 provides comprehensive cloud-delivered solutions across a broad lineup of products, enabling customers to manage and operate their networks and applications efficiently and at scale. Anticipating rapid growth in AI application adoption over the coming years, F5 Japan established the CTO position for the first time in order to further accelerate their strategy of delivering unified platform solutions for comprehensive application delivery and security.

In his new role as F5 Japan's CTO, Maruse will lead the formulation of product strategies and vision tailored for the Japanese market, while also assuming responsibilities for communicating this vision externally. He will also oversee certain territories in the Asia-Pacific region outside Japan.

Born in Mexico and raised in Detroit, USA, Maruse joined F5’s U.S. headquarters in 2013 and has since contributed to global solution deployment for customers primarily in the telecommunications sector. His experience at F5 includes roles within the CTO office and product management departments, where he was responsible for the development of product solutions and strategic design. Prior to joining F5, Maruse held roles at companies such as telecommunications equipment manufacturer Alcatel-Lucent (acquired by Nokia in 2016) and mobile base-station manufacturer Airvana, supporting customers in more than 30 countries in building mobile and enterprise IT infrastructures.
