F5 offers professional services (the “Services”), primarily in connection with the selection, deployment and configuration of F5 network solutions (the “Solutions”).
This Privacy Statement applies to the customer data that F5 processes through the Services.
Under the data protection laws of the EU and similar jurisdictions, F5 is a processor of the customer data, and the customer is (or acts on behalf of) a controller of such data, to the extent it contains personal data.
Many customers of the Services do not provide any personal data to F5 through the Services, other than contact information for the customer personnel with whom F5 interacts to provide the Services. The Services focus on issues unrelated to personal data, such as determining an optimal configuration of network Solutions. However, in some engagements, F5 may have limited, incidental access to a small quantity of personal data processed (or to be processed) by the customer’s Solution, such as the IP addresses in a sample of customer network traffic.
In most cases, the personal data in any customer data that F5 handles during the Services is irrelevant to the Services and disregarded. However, in the limited cases where it is relevant, F5 processes it to provide the relevant Service (such as to confirm that the Solution’s load balancing features are functioning as intended).
For more information about F5’s privacy practices, please see the F5 Privacy Notice. To exercise your rights with respect to the customer data that F5 processes when providing the Services to a customer, please contact that customer. F5’s Privacy Shield certification covers these Services. For more information about F5’s privacy practices, please see the F5 Privacy Notice.
