2026 F5 Tech for Good Grant Guidelines and Application
Grant Background:
The 2026 F5 Tech for Good Grants will support nonprofit organizations using technology to address climate-related challenges while creating social and economic benefits for vulnerable communities in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
Communities living in poverty and other vulnerable populations often experience the most severe impacts of climate change, despite contributing the least to the crisis. These impacts may include extreme heat, flooding, drought, food insecurity, limited access to clean energy, unsafe water, environmental degradation, displacement, and increased vulnerability to climate-related disasters.
Technology tools and services can help nonprofits expand access to information, resources, services, and opportunities that support climate resilience and community well-being. However, many nonprofits lack the unrestricted resources needed to invest in technology solutions that match the scale and urgency of the challenges their communities face.
In 2026, F5’s Tech for Good Grants will fund technology needs and technology-enabled solutions that help nonprofits address climate-related challenges. Eligible initiatives may include, but are not limited to, clean energy access, sustainable agriculture, climate-smart livelihoods, disaster resilience, water access, environmental education, early warning systems, climate adaptation, or community preparedness.
By providing technology resources to nonprofits addressing pressing environmental challenges, F5 aims to empower communities, uplift marginalized populations, and create lasting, transformative change for both people and the planet.

Best Practices for Grant Eligibility: Quantitative Demonstration of Impact
To strengthen your grant application, nonprofits should provide quantitative details that demonstrate how their technology-enabled work addresses climate-related challenges and supports vulnerable communities disproportionately affected by climate change. Strong applications should clearly connect the proposed technology need to measurable environmental, social, and/or economic outcomes for the communities served.
Examples of strong quantitative evidence include:
- People or Communities Reached: Share the number of individuals, households, schools, farms, community groups, or local organizations directly supported through your work.
- Climate Resilience Outcomes: Demonstrate measurable improvements in disaster preparedness, early warning access, climate adaptation, food security, water access, environmental monitoring, or community preparedness.
- Technology Access or Usage: Provide data showing how many people use or benefit from the technology, platform, equipment, tools, systems, or services supported by the grant.
- Environmental Impact: Include measurable outcomes such as reduced emissions, renewable energy access created, waste reduced or removed, clean water access improved, land restored or protected, biodiversity supported, or environmental risks monitored.
- Livelihood or Economic Benefits: Share data on income generated, employment supported, cost savings created, agricultural productivity improved, climate-smart livelihoods developed, or socio-economic value created.
- Program Completion or Adoption Rates: Demonstrate the percentage of participants, households, community members, or partner organizations that complete training, adopt the technology, or continue using the supported solution over time.
- Improved Access to Climate Information, Services, or Resources: Highlight measurable increases in access to climate education, preparedness tools, environmental data, resource navigation, community alerts, or other services that help vulnerable communities respond to climate-related challenges.
- Long-Term Sustainability Metrics: Provide data showing how the technology improvement will be maintained, scaled, or embedded into ongoing community programs beyond the grant period.
Quantitative data is an important component in demonstrating alignment with F5’s Tech for Good Grant goals: supporting nonprofit organizations that use technology to address climate-related challenges while creating meaningful, measurable benefits for vulnerable communities in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. The application specifically asks organizations to quantify potential impact through measures such as people reached, households or communities served, emissions reduced, renewable energy access created, waste reduced, clean water access improved, land restored or protected, agricultural productivity improved, disaster preparedness improved, income or cost savings created, socio-economic value created, and increased access to climate information, services, or resources.
