Gavin Munroe

Mr. Munroe joined F5's Board of Directors in June 2026. Mr. Munroe most recently served as Group Executive, Chief Information Officer and Transformation Head at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) from 2022 to 2025, where he led enterprise-wide transformation, technology modernization, AI enablement, and operational resiliency. During his tenure, he oversaw the largest core banking cloud migration ever undertaken by a Tier 1 global bank and helped elevate CBA to fourth globally in the Evident AI Index, a benchmark of AI leadership across workforce, capability, and execution.

Mr. Munroe brings more than three decades of technology leadership across global financial services. Prior to CBA, he served as Global CIO for HSBC Wealth, Private, and Retail Banking at from 2018 to 2022, where he led digital transformation across the bank's Wealth, Private Banking, Insurance, Retail, and Digital businesses. Before HSBC, he held senior technology leadership roles at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, including Head of Wealth Management and Consumer Products Technology and CIO of Mortgage Technology and Banking Operations.

Mr. Munroe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, with a double major in Computer Science and Physics, from the University of Port Elizabeth in South Africa.
