This F5 deployment guide provides information on configuring the LTM with the new fully supported iApp template for Lync 2010 and 2013, available for download from downloads.f5.com, as well as manual configuration guidance. This deployment guide is the result of collaboration and interoperability testing between Microsoft and F5 Networks using Microsoft Lync Server and the BIG-IP LTM. Microsoft requires hardware load balancing for Lync Web Services.
Organizations using the BIG-IP LTM benefit from mission-critical availability, intelligent traffic management, simple scalability, and enhanced security for Lync Server deployments. This deployment also describes how to use the BIG-IP system as a reverse proxy, eliminating the need for a separate reverse proxy device.
